MAKES 1-1/2 CUPS
This is my favorite tomato-based barbecue sauce. It can be used for chicken, beef or pork. See Vinegar-Based Barbecue Sauce for something very different and equally delicious.
INGREDIENTS
Heat the fat in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the onions and sauté until lightly browned. Add remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer, uncovered for approximately 5 minutes. Cool before using. (Sauce may be refrigerated for up to 1 week or frozen for several months.)
